  1.     If a race had been held to see which 
  2. cartridge had become successful the fastest, the 
  3. 7mm Remington Magnum would probably win hands 
  4. down.  Born of the "magnum mania" of the early 
  5. 60's, it's popularity has been consistently high 
  6. virtually since it's introduction in 1962.

  8.     The cartridge is short enough to be utilized 
  9. in actions suitable to the .30-06.  Remington has 
  10. often been unable to meet the demand for Model 
  11. 700's in 7mm Mag, and it is an extremely popular 
  12. chambering in other makes, almost certain to be 
  13. found in any action series that handles rounds of 
  14. magnum-sized width.

  16. The cartridge is not for beginners.  Factory 150-
  17. grain jacketed bullets leave the muzzle at 3110
  18. fps, with 3221 ft-lbs. of energy to recoil with!

  20.     In ballistic terms, the cartridge is 
  21. exceptional.  To quote the NRA Handloading 
  22. Manual...

  24.       "...case capacity and bore diameter 
  25.       seem to represent a very favorable 
  26.       balance between piezometric and 
  27.       thermodynamic efficiency..."

  30. the range.
